There’s no doubt that Munich’s location is more than ideal for day trips – so of course that would also hold true for day trips centred around kids. If you’re in the mood to treat your kids to a day trip all about them then this is the list for you!

  1. Legoland Deutschland: Located in Günzburg, a short drive from Munich, this theme park is a world of imagination and creativity. Kids can explore themed lands, enjoy exciting rides, and even build their own Lego creations.

Age Range: 3+ – As ideally it seems like something toddlers and above will enjoy the most

  1. Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf: Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf specifically focuses on providing a home for rescued farm animals and other animals that have been neglected, abandoned, or mistreated. The perfect place for animal lovers! Here you get to cuddle pony’s to goats, cats and so many more animals! Definitely a personal favourite 😍

Age Range: 0+ – Even though toddlers and above can enjoy interacting with the animals – I think even little babies can enjoy the sights

  1. Wildpark Poing: A wildlife park near Munich, it offers kids a chance to observe native animals like deer and wild boars in a semi-natural setting. Kids even get to interact with the animals by feeding them! Apart from the wildlife, it also has a nice playground.

Munich Familien pass offers 2 discount codes.

  • Free entry for 1 adult (instead of paying 11.50 euros)
  • Discounted entry for 1 adult and 1 child (adult: 10 euros, child: 6 euros)

  1. Freizeitpark Märchenwald im Isartal: A fairy tale-themed amusement park near Munich, that captivates kids with enchanting storybook scenes, interactive displays, and child-friendly rides.

5. BergTierPark Blindham: An animal sanctuary near Munich that intrigues kids by providing a home to rescued farm animals like pigs, cows, and goats. They offer guided tours, feeding activities, and a chance to connect with animals in a natural setting.

Age Range: 0+ – Even though toddlers and above can enjoy interacting with the animals – I think even little babies can enjoy the sights + they have playgrounds that cater to all ages including a sandpit for the younger ones!

6. Hikes around Munich: Some hiking trails we’ve enjoyed so far with our 9 month old have been:

  1. Walk along the Eibsee trail : easily accessible with stroller
  2. Kneippbecken Farchant : possible with a stroller but ideal with a carrier
  3. Leutaschklamm : stroller not possible – ideal with a carrier
  4. Fall, Lenggries : ideal with a carrier

I’m planning on looking more into stroller friendly hikes around Munich so will definitely share those as well!

Have you been to any of these destinations? Any tips you want to share that I missed? Would love to hear about your experiences 🙂
