Easiest Hike near Munich: Schlierseeberg Alm
If you’re looking for an easy, pretty, and accessible escape from the city, then Schlierseeberg Alm should definitely be on your list!
Just an hour from Munich, this charming alpine spot near Schliersee is one of the most popular family-friendly hikes near Munich and for good reason. The trail is short, stroller-friendly, and full of things to see (and eat!) along the way.
Why We Loved Schlierseeberg Alm
The hike starts right from Schliersee Bahnhof, making it super convenient if you are traveling by train. The trail up to the alm takes about an hour, and although it’s short, it’s full of scenic moments.
As you climb, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Schliersee and the surrounding mountains. The path is gentle enough for toddlers or strollers, and you’ll likely meet a few friendly cows and horses along the way – always a highlight for us!
What Awaits at the Top ⛰️
The fun doesn’t stop when you’re at the top. There’s a cozy mountain restaurant where you can rest, enjoy local food, and take in the panoramic views.
But what really makes this place a family favorite is how much there is to do beyond hiking:
🎠 A fun playground for kids
⛳ Mini golf to enjoy as a family (you need to pay extra for this)
🪂 A big trampoline (for a small fee) with incredible mountain views
☀️ Plenty of open space to relax and picnic
And if you’re anything like us and always underprepared with cash, no worries! The self-service restaurant accepts card payments 💳.
For dessert lovers, don’t miss their Bavarian cheesecake ice cream!
