A Free Community Spot in the Heart of Munich? Yes Please! 🌈

FLUX - community area in Munich

We recently spent a sunny afternoon at FLUX and honestly — this place is such a vibe. Right in the center of Munich (literally next to Universität), it’s a free, open-air community space that’s super relaxed, totally welcoming, and packed with fun stuff for kids and grown-ups.

There’s a colourful mini play area with a slide and space to roam, plus a chill setup with picnic benches and shady spots to hang out. Perfect for meeting friends, catching up while the kids play, and soaking in the easy-going atmosphere.

✨ Highlights:

  • Art & craft workshops for kids on the weekends (check @flux_munich on instagram for details)
  • Live music, dance sessions & more community fun
  • Bring your own snacks or picnic, or grab something from the kiosk
  • Super clean, free bathrooms on-site (!!)
  • Even saw a birthday party happening while we were there — such a cool idea!

Whether you’re popping by after errands or planning a lazy afternoon with friends, FLUX is that rare gem that actually works for everyone and encourages community building.

📍 Where: Pinakothek der Moderne — Barer Str. 40, 80333 München
