Now, to share everything we discovered that the city libraries in Munich have to offer for kids:

Children’s Books

All the city libraries in Munich boast a wide variety of picture, story and informational books for children of all ages! They not only offer books in German but also cater to other languages such as English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese & more!

Free Workspace

For adults and children alike, city libraries offer a great and safe space to read, study, work or even meet friends for group studies. They have a dedicated area with desks for studying or working.

E-books, Games & Movies

City libraries in Munich are much more than just a place for people to come and read paper and picture books. They also offer multilingual e-books, books in sign language, board games, gaming cd’s and movies! Their board games section especially is a great way to test out fun games together as a family.

Read-Aloud Book Reading

Under the program “World Children”, a picture book is read aloud in German and another language or sometimes only in another language (for e.g English, Italian, Chinese etc)

The children experience the story in a playful and creative way through dialogue. Sometimes there is also singing, playing or doing crafts.
