Eisstockschießen, often called Bavarian curling, is a team sport where you slide a weighted, flat-bottomed ice stock towards a target. The aim is to get your stock as close as possible to the "Daube", the target puck, to score points. So put your sporty shoes and your strategic hat on and head to one of these places. If you like to play with a view, this one is hard to beat: you play outdoors on the frozen Nymphenburg canal with the castle in front of you. The catch is that you cannot go whenever you like. It only works when Munich has had enough snow.

It is a family-friendly activity for children of different ages. Kids as young as six or seven can usually join in with proper supervision and guidance.
