Boating in the Englischer Garten

With the weather warming up, there’s just so much to do in Munich! So we took the opportunity to soak up some sun and head to enjoy a fun day of boating in the Englischer Garten.

If your like us and always enter the Englischer Garten from the Hofgarten area, then it’s time to switch it up and go from Muenchner Freiheit’s side – you immediately enter the park with the view of the lake with tons of ducks and geese roaming around.

Here you can sit on any of the benches and enjoy the views (if your toddler is like ours and loves to feed the ducks, then definitely take along some bread!) Then you can walk along the river and make your way to the boat rental ( right next to Seehaus: 📍Kleinhesselohe 4, 80802)

Rent a boat from here (remember to carry cash!) and go exploring the Kleinhesseloher See – our toddler especially loved being the ‘captain’ and manuevering the steering wheel by herself!

Then finish the afternoon by having some snacks and drinks at Seehaus im Englishcer Garten – the great thing is that this beer garten is right next to the water so you have the nice views + a small playground so the little one can run around and play!
