What is Mama Lernt Deutsch

Mama Lernt Deutsch is a project that aims to help women learn the German language and better integrate into their new environment. They are specifically designed for mothers as they provide in-house childcare so you can familiarise yourself with the language without a worry!

They have a low-threshold teaching concept without any certificates or exams. Their primary focus is on the spoken language and on all topics that are used in everyday life.

Wondering if you fit in with your level of German? Another great thing is their acceptance of all levels! So whether you’re a beginner or have some prior knowledge of the language and just want an avenue to practice it, this is the place for you!

Who is Mama Lernt Deutsch for?

When we reached out to them to understand who exactly can join these classes, they shared how their special focus is of course on those women who still know very little German. As they want to help take away their fear of speaking and motivate them to take further courses or enter the workforce. However, many groups also include women who already speak very well but have little opportunity to practice German.

This in turn creates very different, but always very happy, motivated and optimistic learning environment.

How can I sign up for the classes?

There’s no prior planning needed and you can join at any time! The groups meet once a week for about 2 hours, always during the Bavarian school period.

With 29 different locations all over Munich, you are bound to find one that works for you!

What are the Costs?

Their classes are free of cost for everyone and are financed by the city of Munich

What are the Age Requirements for Kids?

The children are usually between 0 and 3 years old, sometimes a little older if no daycare place has been found yet.

They are also always looking for volunteers so if that’s something that interests you then definitely get in touch with them here
